Life is challenging. Sometimes it's necessary to hire a professional guide to help navigate through what life throws at you. I am that guide. Whether it is your health and wellness, relationships, or a mental health concern I can help. I have helped others, just like you, successfully navigate life's many challenges. Let's get started. Call me today.
Health and Wellness Coaching
Most of my health and wellness clients are mature professional women: executives, business owners or recently retired. They come to me to get help with one of the following issues: to lose weight, eat more healthy, be more active, be more intentional, become more present, drink less, reduce stress, feel more connected, or feel a sense of life purpose.
Motivational Interviewing is a research based coaching technique that I employ. It is used to help clients uncover their unique skills and internal motivation for accomplishing their personal health and wellness goals. I also use research from the field of Positive Psychology to help clients learn practices that create mental and emotional wellness. With health coaching clients my work is also based on the extensive research about health promoting behaviors from Blue Zones. And finally, I draw on the work of Carl Jung who was fascinated by the spiritual side of Psychology and concerned with the connection to and expression of one's deepest self or soul.
Most of my relationship coaching clients come to me because they have been struggling to connect to one and other. They are at a loss about what to do to make things better but are not yet ready to give up on their relationship. They both are open and willing to make the necessary changes to create a better relationship.
Relationship coaching is an opportunity for individual growth within the relationship. I help each partner take responsibility for their thoughts, feelings and actions. This in turn increases communication, sexual desire, respect, personal integrity and intimacy. I have over 25 years experience helping people in traditional monogamous relationships and non-traditional ones (Gay, Open, Poly, Live Apart Together, Kink, Long Distance, May/December, etc.).
I use an integrative approach which draws on the work of experts in the field of Clinical Psychology. These are clinician and author Dr. David Schnarch, University of Washington couples researcher and author
Dr. John Gottman, the work of relationship expert and author Esther Perel and the author Christopher Ryan. In addition to Clinical Psychology, research from the academic disciplines of Sociology, Anthropology, Primatology, and Cultural Studies informs my work with clients.
Mental Health Counseling
Most of my individual counseling clients are smart, driven, high functioning professionals who are struggling with a life stressor that has become to difficult to manage on their own. As a result they are experiencing a true clinical mental health diagnosis of mild to moderate depression, mild to moderate anxiety, or a mixture of both.
When treating such clinical conditions I use a cognitive- behavioral, mindfulness, practical, and strength-based approach. This essentially means that the focus is on changing one's behavior and one's mental perceptions in order to resolve the problem at hand.
Treatment also focuses on amplifying the unique strengths and internal resources of the individual. Which are then drawn upon in order to successfully address the current life stressor.

Chris is AWESOME! She has given me pragmatic tools so I may achieve my best life. Her positive approach is infectious. You can't help but implement it into your own personal "homework." While some therapists just listen and give you a little advice, Chris will hold you accountable from session to session... that's the way a life coach should work.
Highly recommended if you are looking to improve yourself and achieve
results for the best you EVER!
Christine felt like a wise guide during our time together. Each session immediately picked up where the last had ended. She never missed a beat. She was never arbitrarily prescriptive, but instead gave me assignments that seemed to spring naturally from my own self-knowledge. I am so grateful for our time together and am keeping her in my toolbox, in case I feel in the future that I could use a little "tune-up."
I would recommend her, without reservation, to anyone in search of a fantastic coach.
Chris takes a very straightforward, no-nonsense approach. She is great about guiding and providing some direction. She is not one of those therapists that just sits back and only listens. She is about providing tools and holds you accountable. I have never felt judged by her and feel like she has been great about calling both my husband and I on our BS.
I highly recommend Chris for couples or individual. I have done both and found each to be very helpful in resolving both immediate and some more long term issues/patterns.
